Deep Drawn Pressing

About Deep Drawn Pressing:

Deep drawn pressing is a process of flat rolled steel to make drawn parts. The part is mechanically formed through or in a pre-determined form called die. Deep drawing produces parts from blanks. The blank diameter is reduced; the blank contracts circumferentially as it is drawn radially inward. Typically the deep drawing press pushes sheet metal from a reel, or single blanks through multiple positions. Deep drawing enables the production of parts such as circular, rectangular, or a more complex shape. The blank is drawn into the die cavity by the action of a punch. At each position the shape is changed by pressing the material further down into a progressively changing set of geometries until the final shape is acquired. Number of steps to create a desired shape depends largely on the metal being used and the final product requirements.

The deep-drawn process may use transfer press technology to cold-form a blank into a pre-determined form. Transfer tool uses deep drawn stamping to produce parts from steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and a variety of other alloys. Transfer Tool produces parts of up to 10" in diameter and in thicknesses ranging from less than 0.010" to greater than 0.125".

Contact Home Page
